Last week was the Healthcare Experience Design Conference. I was invited to give a talk about Facilitating Engagement: Convenience, Sociality, & Fun. I chose to discuss how we at MeYou Health are designing an online health product (Daily Challenge) that can achieve reach by being realistic, immediate, convenient, and genuine, and how it can be effective by leveraging the latest in game design theory, behavior science, and social network science.

My presentation was in the afternoon session, titled “Designing for the First Step.” My goal was to lay out the set of principals that MeYou Health follows in building our mass-market online health solution called Daily Challenge. I then spent the second half of my 20 minutes diving into some of the science-based approaches we are following to make sure that solution is effective.
